Stella Matutina Girls High School, Taiwan


Stella Matutina(Morning Star) is bright not because of the name itself,but also because of glory radiating out of its irresistible energy and atmosphere.

In 1963, Fara Chi, General Superior of Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Mary, established Stella Matutina Girls' High School for spreading love from Jesus Christ. The Senior High School, established in 1966,was combined with a junior High School which had been founded three Years earlier, and became a six-year Secondary School for girls. In 1973 , Senior Vocation of Nursing & Midwifery was established. In 1974,The Junior and Senior High music departments were set up, thus making Stella Matutina a comprehensive high school.

Sound Wave – The Terminator of Fire

This study aims to prove that, aside from water, sound wave can be of great use when putting out fire. Various experiments and discussions have been conducted and have yielded the following observations: the effectiveness of different frequencies of sound wave have on the flame, whether it is possible to completely put out fire with a low frequency sound wave, and the relationship between the size of the flame and the frequency of sound wave.


The savior of Brace-Wearer

The present study intends, with a view to the inconveniences of braces when brushing teeth, to reform the present model of toothbrush to fit the needs of brace-wearers. The following improvements have been proposed and tested in the study: First, make use of brushes of different lengths and hardness to provide thorough care for different areas of the teeth and the brace. Second, replace fixed brush with replaceable brushes that can be inserted into the handle, thus enhancing the adaptability of the toothbrush to different areas of the teeth.
